Concerts and Kebab

Image
This week was weird. While we did not do a lot at school, as we are preparing for our internship in that will start in two weeks, I did do a lot of of activities outside of school. I went to a dorm mates concert on Thursday, and I hosted a Kebab party on Friday. The picture above depicts the two other Dutch people I live with, and a Spanish guy who also lives with us. He is studying composition, and he asked us if we were interested in his concert that he did with his fellow composing students. Although he could play like the devil, his fellow students could learn a bit or two from him.  The other picture is the aforementioned kebab party. I was going to eat kebab at a friend of mine and that spiraled into a giant 11 person party. It was kind of stressful cooking for that many people, but I liked the challenge and in the end I got a lot of compliments on my cooking. People here bleive I can cook really well, so I am always happy to indulge in that. Things are going well, and ...

Hostels and Hiking

I had a very active week. Our class had a trip to Mjolsbergen to the north of Denmark. It is a big rewilding project with some small towns sprinkled within it. A lot of hills and small patches of forest where there waiting to be explored. Some of our class decided to stay in a hostel there. Me included. We had a nice long walk there, where we could watch some idyllic villages and could take up nature amongst ourselves. The weather was beautiful, and I had a great time. We stayed at a Hostel at the top of a hill overlooking a bay with a castle. The sunset was breathtaking there, I could have looked at that for hours. After that we had a dinner together, and we watched ratatouille. We had a really nice time, and the group I was staying with stayed up until half past 1 telling stupid jokes. The next day I had a giant ice-cream with the GUF. Just outright delicious. The rest of my week was kind of basic, and I used my weekend to power up for this week.

A week of sickness and death.

This week was a bit special. We only had two days of school due to one our teachers being sick. This opened the opportunity for me and my classmates to do a lot of stuff together, which was a ton of fun. At the start of the week we had classes about death, where we were invited to think about how we would talk about death with young kids. We also had a chance to dissect a starling and a squirrel, which I found really interesting. On Tuesday we had classes about decomposition, so naturally we put poop in jars. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday were all days of, so I did various things like visit a museum, visit a church, went to a birthday and lastly, yesterday we had a big group dinner with our class at my dorm, so that was a ton of fun.
